Getting Started

Welcome to WhatsApp Forensicator! This guide will help you get started with extracting, decrypting, and analyzing WhatsApp data.

Installation

Download the installer from our download page and run the setup wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete installation.

ADB Setup

Enable USB debugging on your Android device: Settings → About Phone → Tap Build Number 7 times → Settings → Developer Options → Enable USB Debugging.

Extraction Guide (Android)

Connect your device via USB, select the extraction method (Root/Non-Root), and click Extract. The database files will be saved to your chosen location.

iPhone / iOS Import

No jailbreak needed. Option 1: Import an existing iTunes / Finder / "Apple Devices" backup — the app auto-discovers backup folders, and encrypted backups work if you enter the backup password. Option 2: Connect your iPhone via USB (with iTunes or the Apple Devices app installed) and the tool creates the backup for you. Both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business are supported.

Decryption Guide

Load your encrypted database file (.crypt12/.crypt14/.crypt15) and the corresponding key file. Click Decrypt to process the database.
